This Enigma2 receiver has the best features and realiability, but the complexity of starting to use an Enigma2 receiver (finding best image (software), image installation, installing necessary plugins, adjusting settings and learning to use) has created many obstacles for most users. Now everyone has a possibility to use this Enigma2 receiver. We have edited OpenATV image to make it work according to the needs of finnish and other european users. You can download basic OpenATV image for free from OpenATV website. In addition to basic OpenATV image, SatShop.fi image has necessary plugins and settings pre-installed to make all important functions work. Our pre-configured image is easy to install and use by following the included step-by-step guide. Guide also instructs you for use of the basic functions and also some advanced functions. So you don't have to learn by trial and error. Guide has been tested with a person who had no experience of any other than basic functions of basic receivers. You can buy our pre-configured image with receiver for 20 euros. If you have already bought the receiver from us, you can buy the image for 20 euros. In this case, please contact us. SatShop.fi image features

Enigma2 receivers have the best features and reliability. Below you can find some of the features. All of these features work with SatShop.fi image and their use has been guided in step-by-step guide of SatShop.fi image. Many of these features are missing or they are not similar in the factory installed image and other images.

Stability and reliability

• Works extremely stable and crashes are very rare.
• If a software bug causes receiver to crash, normally receiver will reboot automatically and continue working normally.
• If software version would have a bug, it will be fixed with a software update. You can update to newer software version from receiver menus by internet. New updates are released normally every week.
• You can make backups in the menus and return to those settings in case you would run to some problem with your own changes or installations.

Recordings

• You can record as many channels as you want. Number of tuners will determine the number of transponders or muxes (multiplexes) in which you can record and view channels. For example with 3 tuners you can record even all of the channels of 3 muxes and view any of these. 1 mux contains typically 4-20 channels. You can check which channels are placed in which muxes in Digita finnish terrestrial channel list, Canal Digital FI/SE/NO/DK channel list, DNA Welho finnish cable network channel list, Sonera finnish cable network channel list ja Elisa finnish cable network channel list.
• HDD (hard disk drive) and HDD connection can limit the number of channels you can record simultaneously. Receivers are only USB 2.0 compatible so you can not record many channels to a USB HDD. You can record a lot more channels to an internal SATA and external e-SATA HDD. 3.5" SATA HDDs are much faster than 2.5" ones. Manufacturers do not recommend normal desktop PC HDDs for frequent recording. If you want to record as many channels as possible, we recommend to use Western Digital 3.5" AV-GP HDDs that are built for 24/7 use and are fast and quiet and keep cool. You can also use one as an external HDD by plugging it in an external e-SATA HDD housing. You can record more than 10 HD channels simultaneously to these HDDs. You can also record to a NAS (network drive). Check below in the "receiver technical specifications" chapter which HDD types and capacities are possible with this receiver.
• You can start recordings or schedule timers for example in EPG view. You can determine them as one-time or to repeat weekly or on the exact days you want.
• AutoTimer creates timers automatically according to your terms. You can use different terms like program title, part of the title, weekday, timespan, channel, program maximum duration, unique description etc. Check pictures.
• You can edit the recordings.
• In addition to fastforward and rewind you can jump forward and backward 15, 30, 180 s with your numpad and you can edit the times.
• Timeshift.
• Both free and pay tv broadcasts are recorded without encryption.
• All recordings can be played also with other devices with for example VLC player.
• If you want to play recordings on other devices you can check the file format compatibility with a sample recording.

Support for european countries

• A long list of menu languages (check below).
• Fully functional subtitles.

Channel lists

• You can create favourite lists and choose just the channels you want on the lists.
• You can edit favourite lists with receiver.
• You can edit channel lists and favourite lists on a PC and Mac.
• You can have unlimited number of channels.

EPG (electronic program guide)

• Multi-channel and 1-channel views. Check pictures.
• Automatically downloaded EPG information.
• In EPG view you can search for programs with same name and make recordings and AutoTimers (explained in "recordings" chapter).
• You can adjust EPG view (number of channels, timespan, font sizes etc).

Customizability

• You can edit almost all receiver settings and operations to make the receiver function as you want. Check pictures for some settings.

Speed

• Quick start from standby.
• Some models have the fastest processors there are in DVB receivers.

Network features

• You can control and make recordings and you can watch live tv and recordings from PC, Mac, Android devices, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch even while somebody else watches another channel from the receiver. Check pictures of EPG view in PC internet browser and of use with Android device.
• Transcoding models can pack the live tv broadcast or recording in smaller size while you watch it. So that you can view live tv and recordings also over slower internet connection from PC, Mac, Android devices, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch even while somebody else watches another channel from the receiver.
• You can copy recordings to a PC over network by connecting from PC to your receiver with an internet browser or FTP program.
• You can play recordings of another Enigma2 receiver over network. So even if you had only 1 receiver with HDD, you can still watch the recordings on all of your Enigma2 receivers.
• You can view pictures and play music and video files from HDD, USB memory stick or NAS (network drive).
• You can use tuner of another Enigma2 receiver over network.

Pay tv channels

• Working satellite pay tv channels: free SD & HD, Canal Digital FI/SE/NO/DK SD & HD, Viaccess SD & HD, HD+ (Germany), Sky UK SD & HD, Sky Germany SD & HD.
• Also possible to use more exotic satellite viewing cards: Oscam compatibility list.
• Working terrestrial channels: SD free & pay tv, HD free and of encrypted HD channels at least MTV3 HD.
• Working cable channels: SD free & pay tv, HD free and of encrypted HD channels at least MTV3 HD and Nelonen HD in at least DNA Welho, Sonera and Elisa cable networks.

Card sharing

• You can share your viewing cards in LAN (local area network) within your household to other Enigma2 receivers.
• You can share your viewing cards within your household with a SmartWi card splitter.

Plugins

• You can install plugins from menus through internet connection.
• SatShop.fi image includes pre-installed plugins. Check list below.

• Pay-tv cards work: Installed and configured OSCam, CCcam & MGcamd card reader programs. As default (changeable in the menus) OSCam, that is compatible with: Conax (Canal Digital (FI/SE/NO/DK) (also HD), finnish terrestrial SD channels and of pay-tv HD channels at least MTV3 HD, finnish cable SD channels (in some networks also MTV3 HD & Nelonen HD), Viaccess (Redlight HD, Penthouse HD,...), NDS Videoguard (Sky Italia (non-HD), Sky UK (also HD), Sky Germany (also HD)) and many other encryption systems.
• All terrestrial, cable & satellite channels receivable in Finland can be found: Channel settings done and installed. Other european channels should be found also.
• Automatic subtitles: Subtitles and settings.
• EPG (electronic program guide) information downloaded automatically from internet: EPG settings. Canal Digital and most satellite channels don't send EPG information on the channels, so they need to be downloaded from internet.
• Settings for finnish and other european users.
• Sundtek Control center and drivers for Sundtek USB tuners.
• Drivers for SatShop.fi USB tuners.
• Golden Media WiFi USB adapter drivers.

Receiver technical specifications

All Enigma2 receivers have the same user interface when they have SatShop.fi image installed. So the differences between Enigma2 receiver models are the technical specifications. • You can choose 1 tuner. T = terrestrial tuner, T2 = terrestrial HD tuner, C = cable tuner (also HD), S = satellite tuner and S2 = satellite HD tuner. T2 and S2 tuners are also compatible with S broadcasts. You can also choose 1-2 pcs external USB tuners that work as well as the internal tuners.
